How is living in Seattle?
I wonder what it means to live in Seattle. I currently live in the bay of San Francisco and am considering Seattle movement. I've been in town and I like, but do not know what it is to live there. Some of the things I have questions about are: 1) Is it expensive rental housing or in Seattle? 2) Is there a lot of jobs in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry in the Seattle area? 3) How is the quality of living in Seattle at San Francisco or Los Angeles (crime, schools, climate, etc.)? 4) What is the dating scene like in Seattle? Observations and suggestions from people who live or have lived in Seattle, would be great!
Hey, There are striking similarities between San Francisco and Seattle, in terms natural environment, socio-political climate of caution, from an economic standpoint. Seattle, in some circles is known as San Francisco or San Francisco North Lite. Here are my answers to your questions: 1.) Housing is cheaper in Seattle than in San Francisco by a long shot. But equal or near levels. Almost any area in the Seattle metropolitan area can live alone to avoid living outside or in the vicinity of the main avenues or Hwys ie-Rainer Ave South Seattle, road 99/Aurora Ave and Pacific Highway north and south, Delridge Way in West Seattle, and how MLK in south Seattle. Average price of home typical " Seattle area is about 400K. 2.) The Pharmaceutical / Biotech is growing in Seattle, led by the efforts of people like Paul Allen, and also of the University Washington. Yet near the levels of communities such as Boston or San Diego, but will come if the premises can avoid being purchased by state enterprises lol check The Seattle Times and Seattle PI both have the latest information on biotechnology in the region. 3.) As I said before the quality of life in Seattle is very similar to San Francisco. LA On the other hand it is night and day different from Seattle, but has been both Los Angeles and the Bay area of these areas are also different day and night each other. Seattle has very low violent crime compared to other major cities as a matter of fact the killings were the lowest were in more than one decade. However, Seattle did not have high theft, property crimes and vehicle theft, but all in all, a fairly safe city. Seattle Public Schools are struggling to keep children enrolled. Like the major yards in the country for people with upper middle income middle class will be sent to children to private schools or live in the suburbs of quality schools. The school situation is not different from San Francisco. The time believe it or not, the time of St. Francisco is very similar to Seattle. Both are widely rain fall in the months of November, December and January, with average rainfall of Seattle, being slightly higher in those months. Seattle has clouded fog of San Francisco has much of the year and Seattle is a bit cooler than San Francisco. When his 48 in Seattle on 55 in San Francisco. Of So not much of a difference. The climate of major difference is that the sages of Seattle receives more rain, cloudy, during the spring months is, in early March and April to San Francisco. Seattle is typically dry from mid-May to October. This year was the exception, because of El Nino / global warming. LA was dependent Weather on where you live is arid desert / Mediterranean climate throughout the year. Seattle and San Francisco have more in common in Los Angeles and Seattle or Los Angeles and San Francisco. 4.) Dating scene in Seattle is what you make of it. Again, like San Francisco, Seattle is very educated, liberal, progressive, free culture. So if you were able to fit in San Francisco, you should have no problem with installation in Seattle, in all aspects of life. If your into the outdoors or go to happy hour should not have no problem. Remember, the focus of all social activity, ie, nightlife and more. The City is not a district like Los Angeles. In short, if you decide to spend the transition should not be so hard over the bay from Seattle. Just keep an open mind about things and you'll do. People who do not usually fit Seattle is these types of self rightous right whose life revolves around the life and SUVs and suburban refuge in cookie cutter communities. Seattle is a city inviting people to explore and discover. So many great and interesting neighborhoods only people
